Intro
People around
Australia and New Zealand are now hearing what Sydneysiders have been
keeping secret for the past 11 years.
Christian
singer-songwriter Nathan Tasker has recorded seven albums and performed
to around half a million people at more than 1200 concerts.
He's learned his
craft performing in schools, churches, conventions, prisons and youth
groups, as well as on annual visits to churches in the United States,
Western Europe, the UK and South Africa.
Joining me is Nathan
Tasker - a man whose shows are always interesting, engaging and fun.
But they're serious too as he often dances on the edge of vulnerability.
Nathan, what do you
think distinguishes your music from many others.
A1 I
think the
thing… God has revealed to us. (0:49)
I get the sense that
being a role model and acting responsibly is something that's important
to you.
A2 One
of the
reasons… and who God is. (0:34)
One of the things
I've noticed listening to your music is the way you use stories to tell
your message. Is that something you set out to do?
A3 At
the very
heart… the hope that I have as well. (0:41)
How do you balance
expressing what you're feeling as a songwriting, and writing music that
has a message?
A4 When
I first
started playing… go hand in hand. (0:34)
To what extent does
this vulnerability go hand in hand in with the musical genre (or style)
you're working in?
A5 I
mentioned
before… than anything else. (0:40)
(Chuckle) Who are
the musicians, singers and songwriters that have influenced you over
the years?
A6 I
have so many…
the other people. (1:38)
You're obviously a
thinker, what authors and books do you read?
A7 I
love reading…
connect with me (1:18)
In a sense, that's
what songwriting is all about too. Is songwriting something that
you work on, or rely more on inspiration?
A8 Songwriting
me
for… Your Love Changes Me (1:44)
Nathan Tasker thanks
for joining us. And here's the song he's just been talking about, Your Love Changes Me.
